Recycle Your TV!

It seemed like a no-brainer to me – we are in a television transition and lots of people are replacing television sets – someone should be taking the old ones back. After months of looking for a local place to accept dead television sets and recycle them appropriately, i finally found one.
Best Buy at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge (and, i assume, other Best Buy locations) will now take television sets up to 32 inches. There is a catch, but it’s not a bad deal. You have to pay them $10 per set, but they give you a $10 gift card for Best Buy. It is pretty painless – you get a cart from the store, load up your set, wheel it to customer service and tell them you want to recycle it. That’s it. You can bring two per day per household.
